FORMAT AND RULES

Competitors will be categorized into divisions based on submitted scores.

E.g. those whose scores fall within a pre-determined range for Intermediate competitors will be categorized as such.

These ranges will be known only to competition officials.

Routes for the competition will not be graded using the Yosemite Decimal System, but numbered in order from easiest to hardest.

Routes that may be climbed on Top Rope or Lead will have two numbering tags.

E.g. #13 and #14 are the same route, except #14 is the route when Lead Climbing.

The point value of each route will be equal to its order number times 100.

E.g. route #13 is worth to 1300 points, while route #14 is worth 1400 points.

All competitors will be issued a score sheet with a place to indicate number of attempts on a given route.

Fellow competitors will serve as peer judges who must write-in their initials as witnesses for attempts. Two witnesses’ initials are required.

Competitors may climb as many routes as they like, but will submit as their final score the sum total of points of their best three (3) climbs.

All wall features will be considered “ON” (part of the climb) unless the start of the route indicates otherwise. Volumes are only “ON” for a route if a hold from that route is bolted to it.

In the event of any ties, the climber with the fewest attempts to complete their submitted climbs shall be deemed the winner.

The competition will not be providing belayers.

Participants should have their own belay partners or partner up with one or more of the other participants to be belayed.
